JIMMY BARNES TO ROCK NEXT ‘a day on the green’
This mercurial performer is undoubtedly one of our most popular and best-loved, and over the past year has been delivering killer ‘a day on the green’ performances around the country. The wonderful Kasey Chambers, crowd favourite’s Joe Camilleri & the Black Sorrows and Ella and Jess Hooper’s new band The Verses will be the support acts, ensuring another sensational day of music at All Saints! The Sydney concert from the Australian ‘Out In The Blue’ tour is soon to be released on DVD, Jimmy’s ICON book has been so successful it is now in its third re-print and he is also continuing his work as a host with MAX TV. Early next year, Jimmy will take time off from touring to begin writing for his next studio album. But it is on stage that Jimmy shines, and his enduring popularity is a testimony to his charismatic performances and amazing live shows. All Saints - get ready to rock! Multi ARIA Award-winning singer-songwriter KASEY CHAMBERS has been a frequent and welcome addition to ‘a day on the green’ concerts for many years. Kasey’s success has continued with her most recent album ‘Rattlin’ Bones’ with husband Shane Nicholson, picking up the ARIA award for Best Country Album and winning rave reviews from critics and fans alike. Also performing will be recent inductee into the ARIA Hall Of Fame Joe Camilleri with his band THE BLACK SORROWS. Joe has been thrilling audiences for decades with his gorgeous soul, blues and pop music through all sorts of band incarnations. The Black Sorrows are perhaps his most successful musical venture with songs like ‘Hold On To Me’, ‘Harley and Rose’, and ‘Chained To The Wheel’ among his crowd favourites. ‘Roarin Town’, released late last year, is the first Sorrows album in eight years and Joe is touring a rockin’ five-piece to support it. Opening the day will be the familiar faces of Ella and Jess Hooper, formerly of Killing Heidi. After their phenomenal success with Killing Heidi, the brother and sister team have formed a new band called THE VERSES. The new project draws on their experience as seasoned performers, and signals a return to their roots of acoustic based contemporary music. Drawing inspiration from such artists such as Neil Young, Van Morrison, Ryan Adams and Ray Lamontagne, The Verses are ready to capture the ears of music lovers everywhere with their debut album, set for release early next year. And remember, for a totally relaxing day, leave the car at home! Patrons are encouraged to pre-book on a coach to be collected from their accommodation or a nominated location.
