Sky High Win for Rutherglen Winery

Vintage 2010 at Rutherglen’s legendary Chambers Rosewood winery has been interrupted by news of an exciting win in The Business Traveller Cellars in the Sky Awards 2009.

Sixth generation winemaker, Stephen Chambers, scored 17.5 to take off the Best Fortified/Sweet wine category for his Rutherglen Muscat, the youngest style within the Winemakers of Rutherglen’s classification system.

The wine was included on the wine list offered to international travellers with the American carrier, Delta airlines 18 months ago and this award follows hot on the heels of another win at a prestigious wine show in Texas.

The Awards are being held in Rutherglen this year and involve olive growers from all over Australia submitting olive products for assessment by accredited judges in categories of Extra Virgin Olive Oils, Table Olives and Tapenades. Gold medals are awarded in a range of classes with all winners vying for the ultimate prize of 'Best of Show'. more >>
