The Real Sea Change comes to Rutherglen
Both couples left their busy lives in Melbourne for their new rural adventure in Rutherglen just over 12 months ago, to take on the running of the historic House at Mount Prior B&B. All professional in their own right, they decided that their move to Rutherglen would provide them with a more relaxed, country lifestyle but as it’s turned out, they’ve never been busier. With no previous experience in the hospitality game, it’s been a steep learning curve for both couples but they’ve enjoyed all aspects of their journey thus far. As Paula puts it, “Our biggest surprise has been how well both couples have got on and adapted to our new lifestyle and business, but it was no surprise how we’ve been welcomed and accepted in the region….Rutherglen is a very friendly place.” Both couples were initially quite nervous and apprehensive about participating in the TV series and having a camera crew film their lives ‘warts and all’ over a six month period. However, they slowly warmed to the concept as they got used to having cameras film their day-to-day activities. But the proof will be what is shown in the first instalment of The Real Sea Change on April 2 and as Paula mentioned, “All four of us are rather nervous about what’s going to be shown and what ended up on the editing suite floor.” It should make for compulsory viewing, so sit back and enjoy the ‘real life’ journey of the Routs and the Reynolds in The Real Sea Change.
